The Island Dolphin Care Board of Directors meets regularly to approve budgets, purchases and directly advise the Executive Director.
The Island Dolphin Care Board of Directors generously donates their time and services to Island Dolphin Care. Without our Board, Island Dolphin Care would not be able to bring so many children to meet our dolphin friends.
James Lupino- Board Chairman- Attorney. Mr. Lupino is a former member of the Florida Bar Board of Governors, Past President of the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce President,member of the Minnesota, Colorado and Florida Bar Associations, The Community Bank of Florida Regional Board of Directors, Leadership Monroe County and currently President Elect of the Upper Keys Rotary Club.
Deena Hoagland, LCSW- Executive Director. Deena is a member of the NASW, and the Coastal Conservation Association. Along with serving on the Board of Directors, Deena is also a full time Dolphin Assisted Therapist at Island Dolphin Care.
Wayne Otto-Fitzdam- MSA-CPA- Treasurer- Mr. Otto-Fitzdam is a member of the Board of Trustees Palmer Trinity College Preparatory School, Community Bank of Florida Regional Board of Directors, and the Upper Keys Trauma District Board.
Dr. Paul Stribling Ellison, Jr. MD- Orthopedic Surgeon- Dr. Ellison is the Vice Chairman of the United States Swimming Sports Medicine Society, Board of Directors of Mariners Hospital, and the Vice President of the Florida Keys Children's Shelter.
Dr. Sue Lindeblad- PT, PhD- Guest Faculty University of Miami, School of Medicine, Department of Physical Therapy. Director of the Foreign Credentialing Commission on Physical Therapy.
Dr. Stanley Zuba MD-Pediatrician- An Assistant Professor of Pediatrics FUHS/ The Chicago Medical School, President Mariners Hospital Meducal Staff and current Chief of the Department of Medicine, Past Mariners Hospital Emergency Room and Pharmacy Committees.
Dr. Redmond Burke- Chief Department of Cardiovascular Surgery Miami Children's Hospital.
Joy Martin- Real Estate Broker-Ms. Martin is a member of the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce, and a Board Member for Habitat for Humanity.
Island Dolphin Care is a 501(c)3 not for profit organization that provides dolphin assisted therapy to children with critical illnesses, disabilities and special needs from all over the world.
