Dorsal Fin: The fin on the upper side of the body.

Blowhole: The hole on the top of the head through which the dolphin breathes air and makes sounds.

Melon: The rounded front of the dolphins head.

Rostrum: The elongated part of the dolphin's mouth and jaws

Eye: Gives the dolphin 20/20 color vision in and out of the water.

Ear: Allows the animal great hearing in the water. It is only about the size of a pinhole.

Pec-fins: More properly called the pectoral fin. Is used for steering while swimming.

Bellybutton: Supplied the dolphin calf with nutrition from its mother while still inside her.

Tail Fluke: The most powerful part of the dolphin. The tail can allow the dolphin to travel as fast as 40mph.
